About

ACM is Samford's computing club — the student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery, and the only club on campus for anything computer-related.

Because we are the only computing club at Samford, we are a wide tent on purpose. Cybersecurity, software engineering, computer engineering, business continuity — if your interest touches a computer, this is where it lives.

We care a lot about what AI has changed. The gap between having an idea and building it has never been smaller, and a big part of what we do is helping people cross it without needing years of coursework first.

This year is a rebuild. Say something here about where the chapter is headed — this is the paragraph people read to decide whether to show up.

What we do

Hackathons

We enter them and, this year, we are hosting one at Samford. Teams form here; you do not need to arrive with one.

Contests

A software engineering contest hosted on campus, open to students across the department.

Building with AI

Sessions on getting real things built with modern tools — aimed at people with ideas, not just people with experience.
